Quanta Pro Bars Mounted to Radions?

So I am about to pull the trigger on two Quanta Pro Meso Blue bars to add some supplemental lighting to my Radion Gen 2s. Seeing as they are a bit older I could use that extra PAR and pop from the light bars.

My question however is how am I going to mount them to my existing lights?

Looking to see if any other Radion owners have done this with the Quanta bars successfully. Trying to keep it esthetically pleasing, they will be angled into the tank from both sides, If I can get them attached to the RMS Track somehow that would be best. If not I can always just hang them off the ceiling but I wanted to try and stay away from that if possible.

Looking to ideas/suggestions/and pictures if you have done this.

Maybe you could use some 8020 rail mounted to the RMS track, and then mount the Quanta bars off the 8020?

Or maybe some of the Aquatic Life hybrid mounting brackets might work? I used the 24" hybrid brackets and some 8020 to build a custom light mount for my lights and bars.

I did consider the 8020 but was hoping to keep it a bit more low profile.

The Hybrid brackets look like they might be able to be hooked up to the current light bar. 24" long or 12" long though? BRS has them listed as 24" but then in the item description the dimensions say 12.75" x 1.25"

They definitely aren't 24" long... they are only 12.75" long, with 12.25" between the holes.
I'm not sure who made the decision to call them 24" brackets.....

@bcarl77 I ended up using 1/8 aluminum bar from Home Depot and fabricating a mount by running two pieces front to back on the far left and far right sides under the radion mounting bracket. It required some longer screws and did push the lights to the side a bit on the sides but i actually like that it turned out that way for my set up! I'm sure that could be easily adjusted if needed.

That looks great, did you paint the aluminum? Did you run one piece the entire width? And you got longer screws to to into the lights through the RMS Slide mount into the radion? I am planning to to something similar but with a Sky

How are you liking the lights?

@bcarl77 Yup! Exactly! Spray painted them black to match the RMS mount and ran one bar along the width of the fixture on both sides. I just brought on of the screws to home depot to figure out the size (I cant remember what it ended up being) and got a few that were longer. Should work the same exact way for you.

As far as the light bars, I love em! I've noticed a big difference in my coral growth since I installed them in June. I've already recommended them to some of my friends in the hobby.

You took the idea out of my brain and made it real! What is the bracket you used to mount the light to the aluminum? The silver adjustable part in the first picture?

Not sure exactly, it came with the light bars.

It appears they come with the pros but I was looking at the non pro version and it has a different mounting option. May have to just go with the pros in order to make the mounts work. Thanks!

My quantas came in yesterday. I am thinking of an aluminum or steel bar (does it matter?) secured to the top rail and the mounts would hang off.

steel bars are heavier. go with the aluminum. It will not rust either.

Here is my final. I have Skys on radion mounts/rails. The bar across the top lines up the quantas almost at the exact same level as the bottoms of the sky.

How long are the flat price each and how many inches are the led away from the radion on each side and where did you get the bolts

They are about 17inches, using the square bar gave it more strength since I wasn't able to use the existing holes like OP. I have Neptune Skys so that they are a bit wider than the radion and I would have covered part of the fans if I copied the design above. I sourced all my parts from the machine screw section of the local hardware store.
