Quantum Po4 remover

Would like to know experiences of the hobbyists who have used or have been using Quantum po4 remover.

Purified Lanthanum is what is in the stuff. It works by attracting the P04 ions and then when it has a absorbed enough, they get filtered out by a sock or something like that. Normally people drip it into socks in an aquarium for best results

Also what if one is not using socks but just sponges ? or maybe a nylon mesh sock

It can work, however it causes precipitate. If its not filtered out somehow, it will accumulate on the bottom of the tank, sump and other surfaces
