In recent mishaps with a Mandarin goby and A royal gramma, i have decided to create a QT/Acclimating tank. I have a 10 gallon tank, thermometer, and i have a piece of sponge in my sump collecting bacteria. Will a protein skimmer be enough for water circulation or do i need a hob filter or air bubbler

You do not need a protein skimmer for a quarantine tank, If you had to every medicate the tank the skimmer would end up pulling out the medication. I recommend a heater, sponge filter, small powerhead and 4inch pvc pipe for the fish to hide thats it. I have a couple videos on the channel about quarantine tank setup.
