Good afternoon everyone,

So i have had an ice outbreak in my 120 and here is my quarantine setup plan and I need to know if it will work. My plan is to buy a 55g tank and take my favorite fish and put them in there and then take out all the other fish and give them to a friend. I am going to leave my 120 with no fish for a few months to get rid of the ich. If I put a bag of media that has been in the 120 for about 3 weeks into the quarantine tank and also dumb more bacteria in the quarantine tank will these fish survive for that long? If anyone has a better plan please let me know, or if there are any adjustments I need to make please let me know.

The 120 has been running for a year

Need to know how many and what types of fish are going into the 55. I assume you are planning to treat them?

Yes with copper treatment, 3 tangs, 2 blows, and three chromis. Only thing I am worried about is the fish being able to survive in regards to the bacteria part of the plan

And these fish would be in the 55g for 3 months

I have 2 anthias and a strawberry goby in a 10 gallon tank. Been in there for 2 months so far while tank is fallow. Used API quickstart and seeded sponges for bacteria. I go 2 weeks between 50% water changes with no ill effects on fish thus far. No secondary infections or anything yet. Min tank size for the Anthias is 70gal. I think youll be fine.
