I recently had to pull all my fish out for ich, I am doing ttm. They have been out for 2 days and will get their second transfer tomorrow. So far it has been very rough. For 48 hours my mccoskers wrasse laid on the bottom colorless. He finally came out today for a few hours, however my female clown is acting very very aggressive towards him. I have never experienced a fish fight until today, she chased him all around the tank until he gave in into a corner and she was hitting him. I had to tap the tank and shine a light on them to break it up. There are 2 clowns, black cap basslet, cardnialfish and the wrasse. I have plenty of pvc but they all seem to stay near eachother. Since the fight the wrasse is again under pvc with no color, and I need to move them all by 845pm on the 7th. The wrasse is in the worst condition out of them all, when he was out he was freaking out and swimming into the walls of the tank. I am not sure how this is going to work for the next 73 days. I don't understand why she is so aggressive, she was never like this in the dt. I was thinking of putting blue back ground around 3 sides of the tank and the bottom. Maybe this will make them feel more secure? They all seem to be trying to swim down in the qt. Not only am I not sure how they will make it through these 73 days but I don't know how I will with this stress lol. Should have gotten a cat and called it a day.

What size is your qt? Why not jusr make an eggcrate divider with clowns kept to 1/3 of the tank and the other fish in the other 2/3? Or perhaps getting a medium critter keeper in the tank for the clowns?

^^^good idea! you could definitely do a divider to protect the wrasse. I'd also like to know how large these QT's are. Remember though, that after the TTM is over you can put them in a much larger QT (if for example your using a pair of 10 tanks for this portion) after the transfers are all done. A larger QT would give them more room and lessen the aggression some along with plenty of hiding spots. So, the longest part of your quarantine period would be spent in a larger tank with hopefully less stress for the wrasse and for you.

I have a 15 gallon and a 20L. They are in the 20 at the moment, I set it up so at the end of ttm they will be in the 20L for the rest of the time. The dt is a 30 gallon and they were fine. I figured it's still 30 inches long so they should be ok. Tonight they will be going into the 15 for the first time [emoji53]. I'll have to try the egg crate if this keeps up.

Sorry that puts my plan down the drain. But the divider is a good idea!

Or return it to your lfs and allow the rest of your ecosystem to move on without disturbance lol

Lol my clowns are my OGs! They were my first additions. The only thing she would ever bite was my hand anytime it was in the tank.

Is the clown paired? Because I can totally understand keeping the original fish, I've gotten rid of an Achilles Tang because of that exact reason lol. So I take it all back, get rid of everything else but the OG clown haha

Yes both of them are paired they were hosting on the dt tank.
