Quarantine at same time as SW Fill

Hey All,

I'll be filling my first FOWLR tank this weekend and a thought crossed my mind.

Any reason I couldn't set up a QT, add some bio-spira and begin QTing my first fish while my DT is cycling? Or at least time it such that when my cycle completes in 4-6 weeks, I'll already have my fish ready to add (already gone through QT)

Maybe this is an obvious 'Yes...go for it' but I'm trying to be as cautious as possible.

Yup, totally fine. That's exactly what I'm doing now. Easier to qt when you know the tank isn't ready! Just be sure your DT is ready before adding the fish.

Thanks! That will be a help...at this point my wife sees a very expensive piece of furniture and lots of boxes being delivered and trips to LFS. No water, and no fish...she's going to begin to wonder when it will end

Do folks typically pre-treat for ich, etc... during QT or only if fish shows signs?
