Got a ball from LFS and later that night during lights out seen spiders all in the inside of the glass

Unfortunately, parasite tomonts are probably able to encyst upon marine plants so I would isolate chaeto in a fishless environment the same as a coral/invert. :(

Yeh I was planning to QT some. I was going to dip in Coral RX if possible and move it in to salifert-treatment for about 7 days. I hate flat worms!

Did you get rid of it because it eventually died or just didn't go with the macro route?

Thanks for the reply!
Got a new tank and am trying an algae turf scrubber instead.

Jeez, just got my jbj light yesterday and was planning on getting chaeto tomorrow from the lfs...

Seems like you can fw dip it, found a few threads on other forums that people say they do it all the time. It will kill pods but who cares you can always add more. Read some horror stories on hitchikers.

Interesting question, I honestly don't know the answer. But I suspect dipping chaeto in a coral dip would kill off all the pods and whatever other beneficial critters that hitchhiked on. Of course, it would also kill the bad ones. I would be a little bit concerned about a plant absorbing a little bit of the coral dip; rinse it thoroughly with clean SW afterwards if you decide to try this.
