I'm going to be purchasing 3 green chromis from my lfs and place them in my 10 gallon quarantine tank. I was wondering if I should treat the fish with some type of prophylactic or just observe them for 4 weeks and if nothing shows up place them in the display tank.

I never treat anything unless the fish shows signs just b/c the fish has already gone through so much in a short period of time I find that it just adds more stress I watch the QT tank daily and then treat as needed.

I do Prazipro 2x treatments during my 4+ week QT-haven't observed any changes in behavior (ie stress) using Prazipro. I haven't done FW dips or Copper treatments proactively due to the extra stress that might impose (mainly on me vs the fish). I understand that Chromis can suffer from uronema. I do not know much about this type of fish disease or if there are any proactive treatments that could be used. ps I also do the float and release introduction to my QT (vs drip acclimating), I have my LFS give me a water sample so I can match my QT salinity--that's one less netting that the fish have to go through.

OK thanks for the advice, I'm going to observe them and treat if I notice any symptoms, that way I don't stress them out even more.
