Ok so I just put together my first quarantine tank utilizing my daughters old fresh tank equipment I’m hoping I did it right.
Its a 25 gallon bow front with a single 100watt heater The light is an old current usa light I had laying around and a marine land bio wheel for a 50 gallon with the wheel removed and I put foam in it instead will that be sufficient for bio filter or do I need to do anything else. Also do I need to cycle it. I have some ceramic media rings in the sump of my DT I would be Willing to sacrifice if need be. Also decor is all fake is that ok I had pvc pipes in there but my wife told me the pvc looked like crap and since I have the tank in her craft space the fake decor was a compromise I had to make.

Looks good to me. Plastic decorations perfectly fine. They wont bind meds.

Wether you want to cycle or not depends on the level of care you want yo provide to the biofilter in between batches of fish....
And if youre going to use seeded media or not to start off like the rings, you dont need to cycle from scratch.

Ive successfully done an unseeded sterile setup where i change 50% of the water daily to every 2 days depending on ammonia.
