I have a very small Ocellaris clownfish that is happy and healthy in my DT that I got about a month ago at petco. I have another Ocellaris coming in soon that requested to be juvenal and small. I want to pair the two. Should I remove the one from the DT and add him into quarantine? Or will it be ok to leave the new one in quarantine for 30 days then add to the DT? I'm worried that the new one may mature sex wise while in quarantine then they will never pair.

Qt the new fish then add to dt once clear in qt. If the new fish has a diease and you add your healthy clown to qt now you have 2 sick fish and risk losing both over just 1. The larger clown will most likely always be the dominant clown.

Thanks. That was my initial thought as well. I just don't know how long it takes for clowns to complete their sex change turning into a female.
