I’m truly trying to improve my quarantine process. My old process was basically give them a bath in safety stop and then watch them for about 5 weeks to see if anything popped up. Nothing ever popped up so I got lazy and broke quarantine about three weeks ago. Now possibly velvet is in my display (Thanks LiveAquaria:mad:). Anyway this has painfully driven home why this step is so important. I want to take a more proactive role in my process. I'm considering using these three things from day regardless of how they look.

  • API General Cure
  • Maracyn(Erythromycin)
  • Ich-X
  • Saftey Stop
Is it ok to hit the fish with all of these at once?

I wouldn't. Mixing medication is never really recommended and can put additional stress on the fish

Here's my treatment just to be proactive.

2 weeks copper (type depends on the type of fish)
2 weeks general cure
2 weeks paragaurd

I've run that and havent had anything pop up in my dt since doing that qt process. You can change out and swap medications but they all cover similar things

I never used the other ones b4 but I have used API general cure. And it does work for internal parasite but IDK about external. My only medication that will truly works I'd say is copper.

For the copper treatment do you do like 100% water change after two weeks?
