Quarantine medications for macros?

When getting new macros, what do you guys do to clean off pests? I've bought from algae barn before since they're marketed as selling clean algae, but it came with spirorbid worms. Those worms blew up in my tank to the thousands. I hate those worms so much.

So prior to buying a new set of macros, I want to properly treat it to kill anything on it. Should I dose copper for 2 weeks in the quarantine? What do you guys do?

Give them a quick rinse/dunk in freshwater and visually inspect them. As far as I know there isn’t a dip like a coral dip for macroalgae.

Yea, I had dunked them in freshwater for several minutes, and even spent time physically cleaning the algae. But I still ended up with them.

Would copper leech back out from the chaeto?

Did you ever get an answer to this question? Is copper even safe to use with macros?
