recently set up a 50 cube, acquired fish from several sources , observed for a day and did a prazi pro dip on them, and into the display.

Lost all fish in a matter of days, no ammonia. Have two remaining fish in quarantine tank (29 gallon). One is a golden dwarf moray, other Randall’s goby.

Two clownfish died in display with what loooked like brook. Had an anthias that appeared clean, and developed an ulcer, could have been Uronema, or bacterial infection.

Going to quarantine everything from here on out prophetically. I bleached the display, being it had no inverts or anything living, and was only running 3 months anyhow.

Right now in quarantine I’m running copper power. Just in case it was brook or Uronema, can I run metro plex alongside with the copper? Want to be sure these fish don’t become carriers of it.

Rather not use formalin, although I can get quick cure from fritz/Mardel which has 37 percent formalin, and malachite green (this is bad for saltwater fish, correct?)

Can metro plex be run with copper? In Caden t was velvet and or brook.

Thanks

Yes you can add metro and most other antibiotics to copper. Treat for 10 days. Keep in mind that copper is an immunosuppressant and so antibiotics may not be as effective. Also the antibiotics will reduce oxygen levels in the water so extra aeration/circulation with powerhead or airstone is a good idea. And if they've only had one prazi treatment that won't necessarily get rid of flukes as prazi doesn't kill their eggs; you need two treatments 5-7 days apart.

I don’t, discarded fish before I thought to do that.

Also, I’m not looking for it to be an effective antibiotic, looking for it to kill Uronema and brook. Would it do that when running with copper?

Yes, I believe that is the most effective treatment for Uronema. I believe @4FordFamily has used that successfully against Uronema. Hopefully he’ll chime in.

Agree, metro and copper work fine together. Keep bubbler and powerhead breaking surface for maximum oxygen. :)
