Quarantine meds?

What does everyone use for meds when dosing a new QT fish? And do you start dose right away or wait till signs?

I use Copper Power and either General Cure or Prazi in my QT tanks. I follow @HotRocks QT protocol. I also soak food in General cure and Focus and feed them for 2 weeks on this before switching to unsoaked food.

Depends if youre treating an illness or prophetically treating.
If you're treating prophetically I run copper for 30 days. And during feed food soaked in General Cure with Seachem Focus to bind the meds to the food. This helps treat potential internal parasites. After 30 days copper water change to bring them out and then run prazi for 2 weeks. Dose, run a week, do a 25% water change, and then dose again. After another week they're done. Just noticed as i'm typing this that @Billldg posted @HotRocks qt process, which is basically the same that I follow lol

What would you recommend general cure or Prazipro more? I’m just starting a QT and want to either get one or the other.

General Cure for internal parasites, prazi for external parasites.

@Crabs McJones is correct for what they are used for. For me it depends on the type of fish to be QT'ed. For wrasses I use GC for everything, soaking the food in it for internal parasites and after the copper part I use it in the tank to treat external parasites as well. For most everything else I use the GC for soaking the food and Prazi after copper.
