I am planning on buying new fish online for the first time. Any advice is appreciated.

Intend to use two of these for a total of 4-6 fish. So two to three in each one.

Both will have heaters and PVC elbows for hiding places. I am planning on partial water changes every few days.

(1) I need advice on what kind of filter to use if any.

(2) Need advice on medication. Is there one that treats all potential diseases?

(3) Anything else I should consider?

Many thanks.

Innovative perhaps but not a good idea IMO. If you need to do this cheap, just use buckets.

Cramming 2 to 3 fish in a little container like that is going to stress the fish and skyrocket the ammonia levels.

Not all plastic holds up well to saltwater. It may become brittle or leach toxins.

If the heater for whatever reason comes into direct contact with the plastic it's possible it could melt or damage it.

For 6 fish at once in quarantine you need a well cycled aquarium that has lots of biofiltration to be sure it's robust. A proper tank also lets you clearly see the fish to ID any health issues.

Those things are only like 3 gallons. Not to mention the solid lid reducing gas exchange. Petco always has dollar per gallon sales. You could get a 10 gallon aquarium plus piece of egg crate for top for less than one of those containers. 5.5 gallon aquariums are slightly more (but still less expensive) if salt water is a concern. Fish size matters as for how many would be ok.

Thank you. Part of the reason for the storage bins is I will be able to use them for, well, storage afterwards, and not be left with a handful of aquariums I might not use later. But after reading this, it's clear the bins are not a good idea. Thanks Everyone.
