Hey @Humblefish and @melypr1985, do you guys have a special quarantine setup for mandarins? I've heard that they are resistant to ich, but know they could probably still carry some of the stages with them. I have prazipro, copper and/or chloroquine phosphate ready to go. Since they're kind of a finicky fish I was wondering if you had a separate treatment just for them or should I follow the guidelines in one of your previous threads on how to quarantine? Thanks!

I prefer one of the following methods for QT'ing dragonets (see blue links for more details):
  1. Tank Transfer Method
  2. Chloroquine phosphate
With TTM, you have the option of continuing to feed live foods i.e. pods & live brine shrimp.

Since mandys are intolerant of copper, CP is a great alternative as they handle that drug very well. However, live pods & brine will die soon after hitting the medicated water so you have to try offering these foods instead:

Nutramar ova

ROE

I prefer TTM as well since the live foods can continue to be fed. CP is excellent to have on hand no matter what, but if there is a fear of velvet, then it's a must of a fish like this.

Considering they’re resistant to ich, if they were in a tank by themselves for 76 days, would the ich all die off, or somehow will they just host them forever?

The problem is trophonts may still be coming & going from their gills, sight unseen.
