Quarantine question

i was thinking of using a 20 gallon long with a glass divider silicones to create 2 portions that will have separate water columns, 1 for fish using meds like cupramine and one just for inverts. My question is will the inverts be safe and will the cupramim leach through the silicone or glass to other column? And another question is I hate the clear silicone on my tank I prefer black ! But that's what I purchased, is there a way other then removing silicone from my new tank to either cover up or any DIY ideas?

Experts advise that qt tanks need to be at least 10' apart to prevent airborne transmission of disease, especially Ich. You would have, in essence, two tanks right next to each other.
