Can you quarantine fish by using one of those plastic/acrylic/glass containers with holes that dips into your main tank and have the fish live in there for a few weeks? Or do they have to have their own tank because diseases are transmitted merely by sharing the same water?

Yeah, it needs to be totally separate, each w its only equipment, buckets, cleaning stuff and all. U dont want any cross-contamination from touching the qt water and transferring w hands and all

You need to define what you expect from your QT and then you'll know what'll work and what wont.

If this is what you mean....

Three-Way Breeder, Boxed

...then it's too tiny in the first place.

Ideally, pick up a 40 Breeder to use as a QT.....biggest cheap option there is at the PetCo sales and it's a great shape for QT. A 30 Breeder, 20 Long or 15 Gallon would be my next choices in descending size. Unless you're only QT'ing TINY TINY fish like neon gobies, I would not go smaller.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
