I’m in the last 16 days of a fallow period. I had set up a quarantine tank. Today I purchased my first set of fish. I purchased some captive bred clownfish and Benggai cardinal fish. They are in my quarantine tank. Do I need to treat. The lfs said they treat with cooper and being captive that I wouldn’t need to and should observe them. This is my first time with a quarantine system. Any advice would appreciated.

Did the LFS use therapeutic levels of copper? Many stores dose sub-therapeutic levels.

You can observe first and then treat but I would make sure to observe for no less than 30 days.

I plan on a 30 day wait. Not sure what the treated levels were didn’t even think to ask. But I will in the future.

I just observe but use melafix.... you can get it at pet smart. Nothing serious but I believe it helps. And it’s natural I believe. I just follow directions. Treat for first 7 days then just observe the last 23.
