Hi I’ve had my tank for nearly a year I never used to quarantine my fish before but have had 3 ich outbreaks and I keep removing my fish treating them and leaving my DT empty for 2 months. I’ve had enough and want to quarantine any new fish I get now.

I have a 70L tank as the “quarantine tank” I was wondering if I were to get let’s say 2 dwarf angel fish or 2 tangs, how would I go about quarantining them. Would it be in the same little tank, would they be ok? And is cupamine treatment for 2 weeks good enough ?

and final question my tank being FALLOW for 72 days with just my cuc in there. When I add my 5 fish (2 clowns coral beauty blenny firefish and cardinal) back to the tank will there be an ammonia spike or should I add them back one at a time?

Thanks in advance

70L is maybe good for two dwarfs or two very small tangs. The ammonia will increase fast, so keep an eye on it.

You can put all the fish in the main display after fallow. You should be just fine.

I went fallow years back and fed my cleanup crew and corals. This was helpful for the nitrifying bacteria, but I added liquid ammonia a few weeks ahead of returning the fish to get some more bacteria growing to support the instant fish load.

Yeah I have been feeding my cuc very minimally tho. I have a quick question what’s your opinion on me adding my fish back tomorrow it has been 67 days .... IM SO EEXCITED to get them back in the DT 67 days is surely enough
