Quarantine tank 10g. When to start?

Hi to all. I’m at half way to complete my 40g breeder tank and 29g sump. When should I start setting up my 10g quarantine tank? What do I need on that quarantine tank as equipment, rock and substrate? I will appreciate your suggestions. Thanks

I would start immediately. You still need to cycle the tank and you want to be able to place the fish in the tank sooner than later I think

My qt has an aquaclear hob filter, heater, power head and lid w/ a light. I have 2 4” pvc T’s in there for caves. You will not want rock or substrate because that will affect any medicines or treatments you are using. Before I say anymore, I’ll just give you this great thread about qt’ing by humblefish.
