Maybe I'm impatient...but I'm getting frustrated.

I have a 32 gallon biocube - cycled and up since the beginning of June. Everything in the tank (nothing added for the last month) is doing great - even thriving!

As far as fish go....I only have two ocellariis clowns....and so want to add more fish (two or three), but want to do it right....

So....almost 4 weeks ago I set up a quarantine tank....and started the cycle with Fritz turbo 900, and ammonia initially......been testing almost daily since. Ammonia has come and gone.......but nitrites are stuck at .5 ppm. Nitrates are high.....5ppm or more. Yes...I tested with API - I know it sucks....but it's what I have for now.

I've been ghost feeding a little - but not much - and daily testing shows no ammonia, but I can't seem to get the nitrite down.....for the last two weeks - still .5 ppm.

What do I need to do - or not do.....do I just need to wait longer?

I'm soooooo looking forward to getting more fish, but want to do it safely.

Any advice is welcome!

Carrie
