So rather than doing ich management, I've decided to go through the whole ich irradiation process. I know that you can't have rocks in the quarantine tank due to them soaking up the copper and messing with your copper levels. But how about plastic aquarium decorations. 2 months is a long time for my poor fish to just have some PVC pipe. But are aquarium decorations ok?

How about this ... use only PVC while treating with copper (so, 1 month.)

But once you reach the observation period and all the copper is out of the water, put in whatever decorations you like so long as they are "saltwater safe" and you are not reusing anything from your DT (to avoid cross contamination.)

I have this in my QT - my son picked it:

It is not porous, so once we are done with treatment it can be cleaned with everything else, and it keeps the tank from being "boring" so my son stays interested.

As long as it has somewhere to go the fish does not care about decoration...

I use a bunch of difference sized and shaped PVC pipes and I have a few pieces of live rock. I think one of the best things to do is just not to over crowd the hospital tank

@Humblefish hey humble, with carbon and cuprisorb or some other medication removal media - is it possible to revert a QT back to a display having dosed copper prazi and maracyn?

Copper is the main issue, as rock and other porous material will absorb that. The best way to revert a QT back to a DT is to break it completely down. Take it outside, wipe everything (especially the seams) down with a vinegar soaked paper towel and rinse thoroughly. Should be good to go after that. :)

I would run poly filter in teh system for a while to be sure as well, it will absorb copper in the water and turn blue/green to alert you to it's presence
