Quarantine Tank Inhabitants

I'm curious, what do people keep in their quarantine tanks to maintain a bioload or
do you just qhost feed?
I hate having to do quick qt tank setups so I'm going to maintain one full time, well at least until my display tank bioload is topped out or I get the "banker" to agree to a larger tank!

The few locals I talk to who keep an active QT tend to ghost feed, to prep for a quick setup I'll leave a bag of the little ceramic bioballs in my DT sump. 2 sets - one in the sump and one in QT/being cleaned or both in DT after cleaning.

I did away with keeping an active QT tank and started practicing TTM (Tank Transfer Method). Works amazing and haven't seen a spot of ich on ANY of the fish I've put in my 130 gallon reef or 300 gallon fowlr.

That's not an option for most, not enough room to house multiple tanks and... I'd rather put the money into a larger dt tank.

I keep a 20 gal tank cycled with rock sand and a few hermit crabs. It has a HOB filter, heater and small powerhead. If I want to treat with meds I will set up a hospital tank.

When I don't have a fish in it I throw in a few pellets for the crabs a couple times a week.
