alright so all the videos i watch say i need a quarantine tank so in that case im on trying to pick between two options and i dont even know if the first one would work so check it out
OPTION 1:https://www.petco.com/shop/OrderIte...ad5Cja5zseHSxKtw==&ddkey=https:OrderCalculate

I ALREADY HAVE THE HEATER FOR OPTION 1

OPTION 2:https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/10-gallon-fowlr-starter-aquarium-bundle-bulk-reef-supply.html
OPTION 2 SEEMS LIKE THE BETTER ROUTE IM JUST ON A BUDGET AND STILL NEED STUFF FOR MY MAIN TANK THATS A 15 GALLON

Let’s start with what you want to qt first

All you really need is a 10g, power head and heater. Since you are quarantining fish that fit in a 15 10g is more than enough. Just swap around some rocks from your main to get cycle going. You should be able to get all that for under 100 dollars since you mentioned a budget.

Get a 10 gallon starter kit from Petsmart or Petco. I recently bought the 20 gallon starter for $85. Tank, hang on filter, heater, thermometer. A 10 gallon setup should be much cheaper.

any recommendations on hang on filters from petco? i was looking at the

Fluval AquaClear Aquarium Power Filters, Model 20

I have used the fluval from Petsmart. Probably the same thing. They are ok for a QT. Naught have to pour water in the top as it is starting the first time as even with prefill I think it is the ones I have trouble getting to flow. Once it is going there are no problems even if you turn it off to feed. Just that initial start up.

This. I bought the 20 gal kit about a week ago and it was on sale 20% off.

Yeah I just get one of those under-the-counter led lights. Portable, bright enough to check on fish, and affordable

You’re supposed to light em up with the brightest flashlight you have and yell, “Surprise MF’ers”. Fish love when you do that. Scares the parasites right out of them.

Thank you all again I love how helpful everyone is petco is having 50% off all aquueon products right now btw

Cancel the light. Not required at all for QT. Ambient light is all you need (for fish). Save the $50 for your DT.
Should I keep the light if I'm planning on using the QT for things other then fish in future like anemones and corals?

Truthfully, looks like a piece of junk if we are talking QT of corals. You’ll want to use a quality reef light like you would on the DT. As an example, I use a Kessil 360we on my 20 gallon observation tank. Maybe some of the nano tank members can give you pointers on lights like the Noopsyche and such.
