So I have a few questions regarding setting up a QT. I have never had one before, and I’ve been reading a lot about them and planning through everything, but wanted to ask on here for reassurance. Yes, I already have a tank set up and established. I just recently lost a fish and i’m not sure why, so I am taking precautionary steps in case i need to take all my fish and pu them in QT. 1) Is a 10g tank big enough for 5 fish? I have 2 clowns, 1 yellow goby, 1 tail spot blend, and 1 melanurus (hoeven’s) wrasse?

2) I am going to add a filter floss piece from my main tank into this new HOB filter so it’s cycled with bacteria. Will also add another clean piece too.

I probaly have more questions, but that’s all for now.

I am taking precautions, because it looks like my black clown has some defects on his body, but I can’t make out what it is. I’m paranoid that it’s ich, but the fish that recently died had no signs of ich, it did get stung by my anemone and had a scar from that on its side. Ever since then it wouldn’t really eat and then it wouldn’t move that much from this one spot in the tank. Also, as a side note, I haven’t added in anything in my tank in about 3 months, and all this has happened in the past 5 days.

I will try to take pictures of the fish when i get home tonight, but I would like to stop by my LFS to get some supplies on my way home in case need them.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

For QT you can’t get better info then here. Also putting all those guys in one tank may spike ammonia
