Quarantine Tank : Requirements

Guys new to the hobby. I've had freshwater tanks before. QT is new to me and I need info on QT tank setup.

I'm thinking to use a 10 gallon tank AIO setup that I can get at any pet store, throw in a couple of PVC pipes, add 1 pc of dryrock and use a standard heater. No lights and this tank will be placed in the basement. Does that work? Do I need to do anything else? My main tank cycling has just started and it's a JBJ 45, So I'm 5-6 weeks out before adding anything to the display.

Also get yourself a bottle of prime and or fluval cycle to keep your pneumonia and nitrates down. It will be your best friend.
