Guys. Just got ich into the tank. Now scrambling to get a QT tank set up. Hoping some people will share some photos and maybe a description of what they are running. Just ordered copper power and a Hannah checker. Was hoping to pick everything else up from pet smart tomorrow.

Thoughts, photos and description would be awesome.

Thanks

I’ve been told to keep it bare bottom and no live rock or sand (they absorb and release copper causing fluctuations in levels). Just simple lighting (keep it minimal), a HOB filter, heater, and some pvc pipes and elbows to hide in. If you do add live rock or sand, as I’ve done in the past, test copper levels daily and adjust dose. When done, discard live rock and sand as it will always have traces of copper that release and poison your tank. I’m treating w copper in qt as we speak and ive got 1 fish struggling already. Added an air pump w air stone and little guy appears to be improving. CHECK CHECK CHECK copper levels. This stuff is a killer when not done right. Best of luck

I should add that, during copper treatment, as it depletes oxygen in water, it’s best to add an airstone. Hang HOB filter high to provide waterfall into water. Also, a small power head angles up at water surface to create movement across the waterline. All helps oxygenate the water. I’ve turned my power head off because it went crazy overnight and started blowing all my fish around (no idea how that happened). So far, no issues. Fish seem fine in copper w HOB filter creating waterfall + airstone
