I am starting the venture into saltwater and I have my DT tank cycling.

I want to set up a quarantine tank, my question is what all do I need.

I have a lot of stuff from having freshwater tanks so Im sure I have enough stuff to do one.

I read somewhere that you want a bare bottom tank,a light a air stone and a heater. Is this correct and then only add med's when you are adding new fish etc?

Yep and some PVC for the animal to hide in. That's it. And medicate when you put fish in. Also it's good to have two going so you have one for corals too .

Since your going to have them in there for months at a time

wsould 2 standard 20 gallon tanks be good enough? I dont plan on getting anything on the larger side as I want to get everything small and watch them grow(both corals and fish)

Man your in for a ride!!! I got my stuff all small and you'd be surprised how fast things can grow! Corals,,, not so bad of a thing cause you can clip or propagate them and profit!!!! But the fish your stuck with, so chose them wisely
