Any qt tip for a first timer? I'm following one of the sticky post about it but figured I'd look for insight wherever I can find it.... I have a 15 gal tank set up and running, fish went In two days ago. Hob filter, heater, air bubbler, box pipe, rodi water. Fish are eating so I'm Going to start prazi tm after water change(ammonia came up a little over the two days)..plan on doing that for a week then charcoal to clear it out the prazi then coppersafe for a few weeks after...tips, comments, concerns??

What fish are you QT'ing? :)

You need a second dose of PraziPro 5-7 days after the first dose. No sooner, no later. And it's correct that the prazi only needs about 24 hours to work, 48 if you want to be "extra" sure. But, you will need that second dose regardless.

2 black and white clowns and a coral Beauty

So if I have to do a water change after 48 I'll be good? Just make sure I get that second dose in within that time frame?

If you need a waterchange after 24 hours you'd still be good. But, yea if you do one after 48 and then again right before the second prazi dose you shouldn't have to worry about ammonia *too* much.

How are you testing ammonia? I recommend the SeaChem ammonia alert badge :)

Does the general filter that came with the HOB have a blue side and a plastic side? I'm wondering if there is a bit of carbon inside it like most filter cartridges have. It would be better to just get a regular sponge with as much surface area as you can manage in there. Nothing else... unless you wanna add bacteria in a bottle of some kind like Biospira to it.
