Hiya, ill be setting up a new quarantine tank for when I buy fish as I learnt the had way and lost off my fish to Velvet.
I will have a fish only tank.
I have a few questions reg set up.
What do I use to disinfect the equipment and tank ?
How do I cycle the QT tank to keep ammonia down ?
What do I treat the fish with? Would also like to treat for worms to.
How long do I keep the fish in QT ?
My DT has been kept fishless at the moment. With ghost feeding to keep the cycle going. I kept lights off to keep algae down but I'm still getting some is there any products to get rid of it ?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

I set up a 20 gallon QT tank recently. I had some ceramic rings that i kept in my sump of my display tank for 30 days, I put these rings in the QT to help with bacteria. I also added a small bottle of Dr. Tims bacteria (30 gallon bottle). I put one of my clownfish into the QT tank since he was showing possible signs of disease, and am treating him in the QT tank. I am monitoring ammonia daily to make sure no spikes happen. I am treating the fish with Seachem Metroplex combined with Seachem Focus, and mixing it into food. I also have Seachem Kanaplex that I plan to add to the water column. I plan on keeping the fish in QT for 30 days and monitor results. Hope this helps.

This is just what Ive done recently, Im sure there are many other ways to keep a QT or hospital tank.
