My local Petco has a nice Yellow Eyed Kole Tang I want to get. I just finished transferring all my fish and equipment to a different display tank. I definitely want to quarantine the Kole tang if I get it.

I also have a mature 45 hex with a few corals, a Blue chromis and a pair of Maroon clowns. I was planning on using the 45 hex as a quarantine for 4 weeks since it is mature and stable and smaller in case I end up having to medicate.

My large display tank is mature and stable as well but has more livestock in it.

Does this sound OK ? I know its not ideal but its what I have at the moment.

Thanks

Troy

I would not do that as you have healthy livestock in the 45.
Just set up a QT tank.

If you cant afford both a QT and the fish.
Just wait there will be more Koles coming in all the time.

I do not like to put healthy fish in danger of developing Ich or something else.
If my healthy fish contract something and they died because I disregarded basic protocalls, thats totaly on me and needless.

I decided to put my Blue chromis and Maroon clowns in my Display take sump for now and use the 45 for the quarantine. I have a pair of oscellaris clowns and another Blue chromis in the display so the others couldn't go in the main tank.
