I know there are multiple thoughts on QT so if possible I’d like not just a one word answer but why you do what you do. When it comes to buying a fish from the store and the fish going into the QT do you medicate just in case or do you evaluate for some days/weeks and if they don’t show anything you put them into the display… Which do you prefer?

From what Ive seen and done I medicate and watch to make sure fish are in optimum health for a longer happier life (no worms, parasites, etc.) It also keeps any future fish from getting sick from a new one I add

I’ve got two in the QT right now. I want more. They’ve been in there about two weeks. I been waiting to medicate because I don’t want to have to re-medicate again when I add the others.

They should he fine without medication until you add the others unless they aren't looking good

I medicate every fish before adding to my tank. Large public aquariums also do this because they cannot risk thousands of dollars of livestock to a parasite that is not treatable inside the aquarium.

I personally use copper, metroplex, and prazipro for all my fish that I quarantine.

Fish that were quarantined last much longer in my tank compared to when I didn’t quarantine.
