Should I quarantine both? I've read a lot of conflicting info.

Also, can I quarantine them with fish if I plan to take a watch and see approach over medicating just because?

If I do quarantine them what do I feed them? There's no algae in my QT right now.

I don't know if it is right or wrong, but I have never quarantined either. If you did want to, you could feed the snails algae sheets. The shrimp will eat pretty much anything that you feed fish (unless you are talking about some of the more exotic species, like Harlequin shrimp.

I just finished cycling my 125 and added a small CUC then a fish. Not sure who brought it over buy BOOM ich..... So now since my tank is brand new and I dont want to be fighting Ich forever I removed the fish (treating them with copper) and left the CUC in the DT fishless for the next 8 weeks. I learned my lesson. I will be quarantining everything, because after lots of research i found that your inverts cant be effected/hurt by ich, but can defiantly transport it. If you leave your inverts quarantined for 4 weeks without fish you will be better protected. For fish I will be doing 4 weeks with copper treatment. Kinda extreme to some people but trying to catch fish in a big tank with tons of rock work (cemented together) is extremely hard. So i will go the easier route and quarantine everything. That's my $.02.

Since the reason you want to QT the inverts is because they may be harboring ich cysts,(or other harmful parasites with a similar life cycle) then you dont want to put them with fish to feed on. You want to QT them with your coral without any fish to feed on so that they die when they release from that stage.

My 29 gal "fishless" frag tank. I place all corals/inverts in here for 76 days before they go into my DT. Just cheap T5 lighting, Koralia powerhead, HOB powerfilter, heater, rock/sand and a frag rack gets the job done. ;)
