Hello, I would like to know if there is anything out there specifically to quarantining tangs due to their nature of being sensitive to plenty of medications. If you have found something that indeed works for you or a set regimen discussed previously specifically to most/all tangs that would be really helpful as I would like to purchase a tang in the future but do so the right way possible and to ensure it’s survivability. Thanks in advance guys!

Personally, I quarantine my fish through observation, and will only treat if something shows up.
Partly due to a lack of meds in my country, but also because there it seems pointlessly stressful to a fish, especially a sensitive fish to medicate without reason.

Edit: You can also do the tank transfer method to eliminate velvet/ich if you don't want to or cannot medicate.

Where did you read about the sensitivity to medications? It also would help to know what type of tang you are thinking about... different species may react differently to medications or QT procedures.

There is a lot of good information in the articles section for Fish Disease and Treatment.

So with all tangs I've heard are copper sensitive and can have irreversible damaging effects such as HLLE to the fish. I was thinking more so no the side of a powder blue tang. I've gone through humble fish's array of treatment methods and he's very knowledgeable however something tang specific because I've seen it over and over again by virtue of other reefers that this could somewhat be a helpful tool. Stressing the fish vs introducing the fish to an environment that could end up killing it and then having to quarantine anyway is more stressful and usually causes death. I think its safe to say overall to quarantine any fish before adding to your system is the smarter way to give the fish a "head-start" so to speak. Thanks for your guys' input.

I have QT'ed quite a few tangs with zero issues. I've used Copper Power, CP, General Cure, Prazi, Kanaplex, metro, furan 2, neoplex, TTM, H202. Nothing really special about QT'ing them. honestly. Healthy diet and clean water.
I Currently have the following in my DT
Achilles
Yellow
Purple
Sohal
Gem
Yellow belly blue hippo (copper power)
Redsea sailfin
Convict
White tail bristletooth
