Hello, I am in the process of building my first tank. I am starting to see a lot more rapid decrease in my ammonia after dosing so its got me thinking about my first fish now. I am doing a clown pair but I am quarentining everything. The point of this thread is to hear what everyones processes are compared to what I plan to do. So my plan at the moment is to get the fish home and put them in my 20H. Display tank salinity is 1.025 so I was going to match that. Once they are in I would gove them a few days to get them comfortable and eating. Then once I feel confident theyre doing alright start cupramine, slowly raising to therapeutic level. Keep the level there for about 2 weeks. Water changes will need matched levels of cupramine during that time. Once the 2 weeks are up I would throw a bag of carbon in the filter and once levels are back down start prazipro. I would follow the recommended instructions for the last week. Meaning total 4 weeks of quarentine. I want to match the food of the LFS but also want some live food to entice them to eat in the beginning. What does everyone think?

I had to QT my fish as my DT broke out with ich and will QT pretty much ( or plan to ) fish and corals. fish in the 20 gallon and corals in a 10 gal. you can still get ich from CUC if something is attached to shells and such just a FYI from what ive read. I did treat coppersafe at 2.0x for a month if I remember correctly to clean them up then didn't a 50% water change to lower that level and a few days later another water change. This is what cured my fish. since they were now in QT I also did prazi for a week followed by a 50% water change. Fish are doing great and I have to wait another week to place them back into my DT. I was having problems with ammonia at first but then added bacteria to fix that and it worked great ( my sponge filter wasn't as ready as I thought it would be ) This is what has worked for me.
