I just read a thread about quarantining and came across a part where the writer says that he lowers the salinity of the QT to that of the bag. Could someone please explain this?
I would think you would acclimate the fish to the salinity of the QT rather than change your salinity to match the bags.

Yes you would want the bag to match the QT.
I might make an exception if the QT was empty and the fish was expensive. Then I could better acclimate the fish to my DT parameters over a longer period.

I think that guys on his own with that idea. Everyone I know always adjust the bag to the QT. Doing it backwards would be a pain unless you planned from the beginning doing it that way. Only exception would be if you had something that was sensitive shipped and wanted it out of the bag quickly.
