So, I have this wonderful branching green hammer that I love, but he's got about a 2-3" long "bone tube" (column wall?) and I'm wondering....is there anyway to SHORTEN that tube? Is it all bone down there? Can I cut some off? What about burying it in the sand?

Also, I'm juggling some coral around in my tank and what kinda flow? I've got pretty strong flow on it now, similar to the flow I'd use for a torch.

Thanks.

Are u asking if you can shorten the branch of the Hammer? If so yes with a dremel or band saw I wouldn't use bone cutters.

I wouldn't cut too much off. Mine likes to sprout new branches pretty low.

20+ years in this hobby and I've never heard anyone refer to it as a "bone tube".
I'm dead...
It's literally the most "PG" thing I could think of. The shame is I have the borneman coral book like....inches from my face right now. lol.

Has it ever sprouted heads at the mid-low section of the skeleton? Or only at it's fleshy "neck" protruding from the skeleton?
Yes. I just took these pics of one of my frogspawn and torches. New heads sprout all the way down to where I’ve epoxied them.
