Question about a product that "removes nitrates"

Has anyone heard of or used this product to "remove nitrates biologically"....which is how the product is advertised?
The product is --> Bio Booster - NYOS Aquatics

Sounds no different than carbon dosing with NoPox or any other bacteria such as MB7, etc.

Concept is building up bacteria that consumes NO3 and breaks it down.

I’ve not heard of it either but Nyos is a good company. It’s probably similar to NoPox

For the price of it, vinegar is a ***** lot cheaper. Heck even a cheap handle of vodka is cheaper.

From what I've seen of this companies products... NYOS = $$, but doesn't = quality.

Sorry just not a fan of NYOS products. There may be some good ones out there, but I have yet to see them.

Their skimmers I have read nothing but good about, their new reactors(torx), people seem to be having all kinds of issues with them, me personally will never use their nitrate kit again. 3 brand new test kits all read nitrate was under 4, so I kept adding potassium nitrate, corals started dying in mass, got a red sea kit, and low and behold my nitrates were over 50!

So no, I personally do not see them as a quality company.

I agree that it is likely an organic compound of some sort, potentially including acetic acid (vinegar) or ethanol (vodka.
