I was at a store today who had a 6 inch by 4 inch rock of acans. Probably about 100 polyps. It was pretty drab brown and green. BUT, inside 3 of the heads there were pencil eraser sized blotches of bright orange and dark blue. Does this mean at one time these acans may have been colorful? I know absolutely nothing about acans. They dont want much for the rock, under 50 bucks. Is it worth getting them to put under t5 to see what happens?

They sure can. May take a little time to cover up, but it may be a diamond in the ruff.

I would go for it. You should see what my boring frag of orange crush turned into. And no I don't plan to frag it.:D

I love it when the LFS have their corals under 6500k hallides. Its amazing what color corals can become under good lighting and good water conditions.

Well...no i didnt. I kind of ran out of room in my tank LOL. They are still sitting up at the lfs and i told them i was going to eventually get them, its a running joke because theyve been there for over 1 year. As soon as i get my new nano built I'll have the room. I went on an acro spree and pretty much built upon the last available real estate in my 65.
