Hi There. New here and have been doing a bunch of reading but am not really sure about this specific question. I'm not even sure this is in the right section.
My tank is established and 55 gallon. I have 2 clowns, a cardinal, a royal gramma and a scooter blenny (too many). I have a lot of zoas that are really healthy; they are growing and spreading out. I also have a few mushrooms (not really sure of the technical name) but they are growing and spreading as well. Essentially, the tank seems really healthy.
I have a bit of nuisance algae-bubble and hair. Not a lot though. I also like DIY projects so i was thinking of adding a cheato reactor. My question is, will adding the reactor be a negative to my corals? I understand the cheato reactor will take out excess nutrients but I am concerned it will take out nutrients the corals need and want.
thanks!

It wont be a problem unless the nitrates and phosphates bottom out. If that ever happens, you can adjust the amount of time the reactor light is on

I put one on my main frag tank around 2 months now. My coral growth has actually improved and I have harvested the chaeto twice since then as well.

thanks for the insight. I only want to do this if it is beneficial as the little bit of nuisance algae doesn't really bother me. Appreciate the info.
