I currently have an Apex EL system contained within a cabinet to the left side of my 6' tank. I am adding a Calc Reactor in the near future and want to tie it into the system. I'm hoping I can avoid buying the $300 energy bar for just three sockets. Can I use the older model, 4 socket energy bar? Is it as simple as running an aquabus cable from that energy bar to the "brain" on the other side of the tank, or do I daisy chain it into my existing energy bar?

You can hook up an EB4 to the unit no problem. You can also chain it to any module you have in the system, it doesn't have to be connected to the brain.

If your 4-socket is an old APEX Jr, though, it won't work.

My brain is an Apex EL, is that what you're asking?

Not exactly. I was just saying that there’s a difference between the eb4 and the four outlet apex junior. It’s not really important and I didn’t mean to add confusion. It’s just that an apex jr also has four outlets and won’t connect to the el.

With you now, I plan to order the EB4:
