I came across some old 2-part cal & alk in a cabinet and started to wonder, do additives like 2-part, trace elements, purple up have a shelf life? Do they lose their potency? Are they safe to use? Thanks in advance

Calcium and alkalinity additives have no shelf life (unless they are evaporating).

The main ingredient in Purple Up (the fine aragonite) is not useful for supplementing calcium and alkalinity.

I wondered the same thing about a couple of new Boyd chemi-pure containers I came across the other day.

Thanks Randy. I struggled with the thought of having to throw them away. They are now double the price.
