How high can your alk get to before things go down hill. I guess you could tell me what you keep yours at. I will start. 9 dkh

Things start to precipitate out long before corals seem effected. There was a time in the hobby that people maintained around 18 dKH.

I have more issues with alk going down then a stable high level.

I'm running my dKH at 8.5 right now but in the past, and probably future, will keep it a little below 10.

Im trying to keep it at 9 but it goes down VERY quick in 1 night if i stop dosing... barely keeping it around 8.6 right now

when I first messed with VitaC a long time ago, alk shot up REAL high, lost lots of corals not just polyps. It also takes time to safely get your Alk back down to good levels. But I get best results between 8-10

I think as long as you're not running a ULNS system there's no reason to not run around 10 dKH. Especially with a high demand system it'll give you a day or two of not dosing or something going wrong with a reactor before things start going wrong.
