Has anyone ever used a concrete patio block in their sump to raise up the skimmer? My question is a concrete block safe for a fish tank? I need to raise my skimmer an 1 1/2 inches and one of those would be perfect. I just want to make sure the concrete block isn't going to put any thing in the water that would cause problems down the road. If anyone has used or try this let me know. Thanks.

I wouldnt do it, i think it will leech out stuff thats harmful.

Cut 4-5 1.5" tall pieces of a large pvc pipe(1"-1.5"), cut a piece of eggcrate the size you need for the skimmer to sit on. Ziptie the cut pvc pieces as legs under the eggcrate to make a table to raise the skimmer.

This is what i did and it works great

Work like a charm! Thanks Greg good Idea.. I didn't really want to use blocks cause I had concerns... that's why I asked hoping for better idea.
