Question about cheato

I’m gonna the low numbers was caused by a Diatom Filter I was running for 2 days trying to get my water to clear up. But in the end it didn’t work, so I installed a UV light and I’m 95 percent better

My chaeto I just got from alge barn doesn’t seem right but then again this is my first time,, but I’ve noticed it’s lose n stringy a lot of little pieces float over baffle n into pump return kinda looks like grass clippings I’ve been plucking little strings of grass out of
MT,, any thoughts on what it might be or is it ok
