Not sure which forum to post this under but its a general question that covers all corals I guess. Will corals grow on coralline algae? I have an abundance of coralline. I have zoas that grow around my coralline which leaves an annoying hole in the colony. Then I also have coralline growing near my acans and I'm hoping that holes don't form in those as well...And wondering if the coralline will grow and make the corals grow away from the coralline? Hope this isn't a stupid question...I just can't find any info on it and it has me wondering...And are there any small creatures that will eat the coralline? I have 2 urchins that eat it on occassion but they aren't eatting the spots I want them to eat either lol

No question is stupid. Always ask and somebody should help. As for corals growing on coraline algae, as long as it is incrusted, corals shouldn't have an issue. My acans have covered each coraline encrusted area I've placed them on. Urchins are hit and miss on coraline imo. A good glass scraper is the best removal.

Okay, thats good to know. Thank you very much for your imput! I was starting to worry about the coralline...
