so im working on a small tank with limited room and I want a single frag of digitata but got 2 questions.

is digitata safe to put next to lduncans? ive grown digi before but it was never close enough to anything to cause any damage. in this tank, that wont be an option. if I cant keep it safely next to duncans I just wont have it in this tank.

if I can keep digi close to duncans without an issue this is what im thinking of doing and could use some advice. if its even possible.
I would like to have a single stick of purple digi grow out of the center of a frag of duncans. if I found a frag with a bare spot on top could I mount the digi to the skeleton using superglue so it grows up out of the center or will it damage the duncans? ive got a few other ideas on how to do this however they require multiple frags of duncans instead of just one and out here they go for about 10 bucks a head.

the biggest key in this project is the safety of the coral and inhabitants. so if it cant be done safely, it wont be done.

no because of an aggressive defense system that neither of them have? or no to gluing to the skeleton?

duncans don't sting. the best they can do is release their slime. that can damage the digi however ive kept duncans for a long time before I sold off my last setup and ive kept duncans with and even touching several different types of coral and never had an issue. the slime, if released, can be quite damaging. however ive never seen a Duncan release it unless I was messing with it.

my main concern was the digi however through the research ive been doing while waiting on answers it appears montipora digitata doesn't have the ability to sting or release a chemical defense. still doing more research though so that could be wrong. and if gluing to the skeleton would damage the Duncan too much. that's my biggest concern.

One issue I see is the incredibly fast growth rate of the digi as well as the duncans. I don't think it will take long before they start growing over each other.

I would have to trim often, but seeing as how small my tank is I will have to trim often anyway. however, ive decided to do this another way using multiple frags and a raised pedestal for the digi.
