So in the past i have dosed 2 part bioinc and have really really good success. So right now i have a 265 main display tied into a 60 gal frag tank dumping into a 75 gal sump.

I just did some test and my numbers read

500 for CA
1740 for MG

now since i dont need to raise these numbers should i just hold off on bionic or is there a way to lower CA and MG so i can start using bionic?

Thanks for the help in advance

What is your Alk? Are you sure of the accuracy of your SG? If its off, its possible you are adding too much salt mix to your WC water, and by extension too much Ca, Mg and alk.

I'll have to see if I have an alk test. As for salt my salt level this time is a little bit high 1.3

I'm going to do a water change here shortly see if that helps I assume I just want to hold off on bionics

Yes, you can use just the alk part of the B-ionic, or just baking soda for a while. :)

A water change may not help if the new salt water is also high (which is about the only way the magnesium gets there without massive dosing).

I am going to change the water and make sure its at 1.26 so maybe that will help a little bit do you know how much backing soda i should use to help lower this i had to do this once in the past but it was about 5 years ago cant recall

I cannot say how much is needed to offset your demand (probably about 0.5-3 dKH per day), but this calculator shows how much is needed for any particular boost you want:

Randy do you think i should be using 1ml per 4 gallons of alk to help bring down mag? That would be around 100ml of alk mix
