So I got a potters angel. Most beautiful one I have ever seen to me. Vibrant orange color with the electric blue lines and a mixture of the electric blue with black tail fin. Any way I put him in my 40 breeder with a Christmas wrasse, tribal blenny and ocellaris clown fish. The wrasse and blenny are full grown. Wrasse being at about 4 1/2-5in and the blenny being at a solid 4in. Clown is only like 2in if that. I have noticed to blenny and wrasse being pretty aggressive with the potters Angel. The blenny will chase him around for a little bit every so often and the wrasse chases him around a good bit and then stops for a second and then it's like oh yeah your here still and chases him some more. I just put him in today. Ate like a champ during feeding time with the other fish though didn't really come out to much but gobbled everything up that came near him spite the fish chasing him a good bit. I'm just wondering why because they don't look alike nor are they really direct competition for food. Just don't understand. Do fish have like a hierarchy and when a new fish comes in they have to put it in its place or something? I have never seen my wrasse and blenny act like that. They are usually so peaceful and could care less about who's in the tank as long as the fish doesn't bother them and the angel hasn't bothered them one bit as in aggression.

I did also add a mystery wrasse as well today with the potters, but they don't give to cents about him only the potters. The potters is I would say a good 3 1/2 inches or so.

just wondering why they are doing that? is it something that will stop or continue?

The blenny and the angel are competitors for food, as both are algae eaters.

The aggression should calm down after a day or two.

Using a social acclimation box to introduce it can allow them to get used to each other and for the potters to not be so stressed when released.

A 40 breeder is pretty small tank. That's the biggest reason but they should get used to each other

This^^ also keep in mind that a mystery wrasse may become the most aggressive fish in the tank when he gets comfortable.

Right now the mystery wrasse is the smallest at an inch and a half. It's a little bit smaller then the clown. That's the max fish I planned on getting no more. Don't think there's enough room for more. Just was wondering why the aggression out of no where when they have been so nice before. I was thinking an acclimation box after I put the fish in there, but also that's why I try to get fish that there should be no issues with and figured with the potters it's different from everybody else so it shouldn't cause any trouble but I guess not.
